Installing Windows 7 on the pure UEFI systems without CSM

 · Last time I checked, Windows 7 UEFI loader was able to boot Windows 10 without any problems. Boot menu was presented in text mode (akin to "bootmenupolicy legacy" bcdedit option of Windows 8+), but otherwise it was fine, both in cold boot mode (via winload.efi) and dehibernation mode (via winresume.efi).

Windows 10 will not allow Windows 7 EFI OS Loader Solved

 · Since Secure Boot is not enabled, I have to assume the Windows 10 boot manager will not recognize the Windows 7 EFI OS loader. There are probably not a lot of folks running Windows 7 as UEFI, but something to keep in mind with the release of Windows 10. I have not tried installing Windows 7 after Windows 10 so not sure what it might do.

The EFI system partition is formatted with a file system whose specification is based on the FAT file system and maintained as part of the UEFI specification; therefore, the file system specification is independent from the original FAT specification.
